  1. BEST MAGAZINE -- RUE MORGUE

Wow ! I flick through Rue Morgue and I see none of the incredible design, wit, passion and intelligence that goes into every issue of Video Watchdog. Very happy about Kim Newman - an essay he wrote for Empire magazine, many years ago, about he got started writing about Cinema remains one of my favourite pieces of film writing...

  2. Thank you, Wes. I think RUE MORGUE does a fine job of what they do, which isn't quite what we do, nor do we work on the same scale. Their circulation must be at least 10, maybe 20x what ours is, and the award is given by popular vote. Frankly I think the days of VIDEO WATCHDOG winning the Rondo for Best Magazine are probably over, because the award has grown in visibility, which means it's more of a numbers game now. Not winning now doesn't mean we aren't upholding our standard, and I'm happy to see other magazines win as long as they do their job well.

  3. Tim, shouldn't the Best TV Presentation be Doctor Who: "The End of Time", and not "Daybreak, Part Two"?

  4. Right you are. I will correct the error.
